Wet Gas Scrubbers

Type T

  • RECTANGULAR/LOW PROFILE
  • NON CLOGGING, DRY INTERFACE

  • MEDIUM EFFICIENCY

  • LOW PRESSURE DROP

Type T requires little overhead clearance and is easy to install. The compact, rectangular design can be made from or be lined with many different materials, such a wood, brick, lead, plastic steel and fibre-glass reinforced plastic.

The Type T scrubber, like other designs is custom engineered to clean any gas volume. Multiple units are frequently used, side-by-side, or in tandem, or both.

The Type T scrubbers are frequently used after other types of dust collectors to clean whatever pollutants may have escaped the first collector. On the other hand, the Type T is rugged and adaptable and can clean most gases without any pre-cleaner. It can be used on very hot applications also, and can be fitted with quench sprays for gas cooling at the inlet side.

For high concentration solids the Type B conical hopper is used.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

Particulate laden inlet gases are directed through the inlet nozzle and accelerated via the mixture cone and jetted in a near vertical direction at high velocity into a static scrubbing liquor bath. The level of the liquor is maintained slightly below the bottom of the inlet nozzle by means of an adjustable weir. After leaving the bath, the gases pass through a baffle type spray eliminator before leaving the unit at the rear vertical discharge.
