Wet Gas Scrubbers

Type S

  • VERY LOW PRESSURE DROP
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY

  • SIMPLE OPERATION

Type S Cyclonic Scrubbers operate on the principle of a finely atomised liquid spray passing through a spinning gas stream.

Gas enters tangentially at the bottom of the scrubber and is sent on a spiral path upwards. Liquid is sprayed into the rotating gas stream from nozzles in the bottom of the unit. The fine, atomised droplets are caught in the rotating gas stream and by centrifugal force, swept across to the walls of the cylinder, colliding with absorbing and collecting dust and fume particles.

The liquid and particles run down the walls and out the bottom of the unit; the clean gas runs down the walls and out the bottom of the unit; the clean gas leaves through the top. The wetted walls prevent re-entrainment of separated material. A central core baffle is located just above the axial spray manifold.

The Type S does not depend on draft loss to supply energy for scrubbing, but rather on the pumping of the liquid at high pressure to the nozzles for full atomization and cleaning efficiency.
