The Type R-1 Motorised Double Flap Tipping
Valve, is ideal for sealing hoppers or other dust discharge points where an air seal is required. The valve is designed to handle abrasive materials at temperatures up to 400°C.
The complete valve consists of two single flap tipping valves mounted one on top of the other, with a gear motor and lever assembly to operate the valve flaps.
The Type R-1 Valve is manufactured from mild plate. Dust-tight seals and collars seal the points where the shaft passes through the body. The shaft moves in bush type bearings.
Drive is by a 415 volt 0.37 kilowatt TEFC motor, coupled to a gear reducer with output speed of approximately 6 RPM.
The Type R-1 Dust Valve, with its positive time cycle motorised operation, has the following features:

Gravity free-flow flushing.

Gravity return assures positive sealing without pressure closure, ensuring non-jamming operation.

Suited for - positive pressure up to 1.25Kpa
-negative pressure up to 10Kpa
-special design for positive pressure up to 7.5Kpa
-installations where dust is too light to operate gravity-operated valves.

Available in stainless steel construction for corrosive or extra high temperature applications.
Although optimum service conditions are realised when the material handled is dry and free-flowing, the Type R-1 Dust Valve will also perform better than other types of valves where difficult operating conditions are encountered. For very sticky dusts, the drive is fitted with an over-running clutch, allowing flaps to slam shut and dislodge material.
Body Extension
On applications where it is desired to increase the volumetric capacity between the upper and
lower motor-driven ‘flaps’, a body extension can be supplied.
