The 9V and 12V Cyclones were developed from the standard cast iron Multiclone tube to provide a highly efficient, abrasion resistant yet economical cyclone.
In cyclones of this size, application of refractory lining to overcome the effects of abrasion is difficult. The cast iron tube makes a very attractive alternative. The tube and vane are individually replaceable parts, manufactured from cast iron for extra heavy wear.
The upper inlet body is manufactured from 10mm thick plate and utilizes a tangential round duct entry.
The incoming gas passes from the inlet body area to the vane area where cyclonic action is set up by the eight directional vanes uniformly distributing the gas around the tube circumference.
As the descending air vortex changes direction, the cleaned gas ascends through the outlet tube.
The unit is provided with a flanged outlet dust connection. A chute or a small box must be fitted to this to make a quiescent zone. A dust valve must not be fitted directly to the outlet.
