Reverse Air Fabric Filters Modular Model RF
The Filtering Process The model RF filter is comprised of four isolatable sections within one outer compartment. The hopper is common to all four sections. Particulate laden gas enters the hopper at the inlet connection and is distributed throughout the hopper and bottom tube sheet area through thimbles. The air is distributed into the bagged area within each of the four sections. Heavier dust particles entrained in the gas stream settle out in the hopper due to the effects of gravity and the low gas velocity. Finer dust is separated from the gas as it passes through the filter cake media. The particulate is deposited inside the bag in the form of a filter cake. The cleaned gasses exit the each section through an outlet duct (in which is fitted a butterfly valve) to the ID fan. The reverse air connection of each section is fitted with a butterfly valve. The Cleaning Cycle At prescribed intervals, the butterfly valve isolates the section to be cleaned. Reverse air flow is pulled from the outlet manifold via the reverse air fan. The reverse air fan forces air back through the opened reverse air butterfly valve and into the isolated module or compartment to collapse the bags. As the bags are collapsed, the dust filter cake falls into the hopper. Once the cycle is complete, the section is placed back into the active service by closing the reverse air butterfly valve and opening the outlet butterfly valve. The cycle then moves to the next section to be cleaned and repeats the process. Benefits
